Riverton Coaches Training Courses

The AAU National Office is happy to provide FREE Coaches' Education for all AAU Non-Athletes. This exciting program is administered by Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), using their Double-Goal Coach® online courses. A Double-Goal Coach has two goals: winning and the even more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports.

*Mandatory for Coaches. All registered coaches will take this free course as part of gaining membership into the AAU. The AAU is proud to be a leader in the youth sports market and looks forward as being the trendsetter in coach education in years to come.

Riverton Coaches Code of Conduct

All travel and recreation head coaches will be given a copy of this policy at the beginning of each season.  

Each coach will be required to complete and pass asked to sign a copy and return it to a member of the Board of Directors.

Coaches Code of Conduct:

I understand that my responsibilities as a youth coach are of great importance and that my actions have the potential to significantly influence the youth athletes I coach. Therefore, I promise to uphold the following rights of young athletes to the best of my ability.

  • Right to have fun in sports. 
  • Right to participate in sports. 
  • Right to have qualified leadership. 
  • Right to play as a child and not as adult. 
  • Right to proper preparation for participation in sports. 
  • Right to be treated with dignity.
  • Right to participate at a level commensurate with each child’s maturity and ability

We advise all coaches of the following:

1.  Never be alone with a player when they are unobservable by others.  This includes when a coach is transporting players.  A coach should never be in any one on one situation is the coach’s vehicle with a player who is not the coach’s son or daughter.

2.  Never leave a child unsupervised.

3.  Coaches should always use positive techniques of behavior management and never resort to physical or emotional forms of disciplinary action.

4.  Treat each player equally, with respect and consideration.

5.  Coaches will not use profanity, inappropriate jokes, or share any intimate information with children, parents, volunteers, or other coaches.

6.  Coaches should try to never release children to anyone other than their parent or guardian.

7.  Coaches must report any violation to this Code of Conduct to an Board Member immediately.

I have read this Code of Conduct in its entirety and agree to abide by all rules contained herein.
